MINISFORUM confirms Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX for MS-02 Ultra Arrow Lake-HX refresh

The MS-02 Ultra refresh follows the earlier MS-02 Ultra configuration based on Intel Core Ultra 9 285HX, which MINISFORUM says received a CES Innovation Awards 2026 win. MINISFORUM positions the updated model as a version that can also be used for gaming builds by supporting high-performance discrete GPUs.

New SKU, but same platform
Hardware details stay focused on a 4.8 L chassis with upgrade access via a pull-out structure. MINISFORUM lists support for up to 256 GB of ECC memory, four M.2 slots, and three PCIe slots. For I/O, the company highlights USB4 v2 with up to 80 Gbps and dual 25 GbE networking for tasks like 4K and 8K video workflows.
AMD Gorgon Point too
Alongside the workstation system, MINISFORUM also announced the AI X1 Pro-470 mini PC based on the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX470. The company lists USB4, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.0, and an SD card slot. It also claims up to 12 TB of storage support, plus a Radeon 890M iGPU with configurable VRAM allocation and an OCuLink port for external GPU use, including NVIDIA RTX and Radeon RX cards.
