Patiot Viper Xtreme 5 Aurum showcased

DRAM supply is tightening going into 2026. Analyst firms expects conventional DRAM contract prices to rise 55 to 60% quarter over quarter in Q1 2026 as suppliers prioritize server demand and capacity gets locked up early by large buyers.
At CES 2026, Patriot leaned into the moment with a gold-finished Viper Xtreme 5 Aurum Edition DDR5 kit that was designed to grab attention.
The company showed DDR5 memory a gold mirror-style heatspreader. The name comes from latin for Gold – Aurum, and something you can see on the periodic table.
Patriot rates the Aurum Edition line for speeds up to 8000MT/s. Patriot also lists Intel XMP 3.0 and AMD EXPO support. Patriot mentions an unlocked PMIC, hand-selected ICs, a 10-layer PCB, and on-die ECC.

At CES 2026, Patriot also showed a prototype running up to 10,000MT/s in a 2x24GB configuration, but it was a different memory.
No pricing or ship date was attached to the CES showing. That fits the current market, where memory pricing can move faster than product lineups. You can already find some reviews of this memory but as far as I can tell, there was no price mentioned either (why even review it then?).
