AMD “Medusa Point 1” APU for next-gen laptops spotted, featuring 4x Zen6 classic + 4x Zen6 dense config

AMD Zen 6 Medusa Point 1 A0 shows up in shipping log with 28W tag and 4C plus 4D layout

AMD’s upcoming Zen 6 mobile APU family, Medusa Point, has now appeared in an NBD shipping manifest. The entry is labeled “Medusa 1” with an A0 stepping, which points to early silicon used for validation.

The manifest line includes “ 4C4D ” alongside the 28W label. That matches a 4 classic core plus 4 dense core layout for a low-TDP configuration. Earlier leaks also mentioned 2 low-power cores as part of the same tier (4C + 4D + 2LP), so the missing “LP” detail may be a naming shortcut in this specific log entry, or a sign that this particular sample is not the full configuration.

Previous leaks gave us some extra information about graphics, and they are not that impressive. Medusa Point keep pointing to RDNA 3.5 class graphics, sometimes described as RDNA 3.5+ , and the same 8 CU limit shows up again. For anyone expecting a larger iGPU jump, that 8 CU ceiling may be the main downside.

So far, RDNA 5 iGPU rumors has been tied to Medusa Halo leaks, not Medusa Point. This new manifest does not change that picture, and it still leaves Medusa Point positioned as Zen 6 CPU progress paired with an iGPU that stays close to the current generation.

The Medusa Point would appear in two variants; the one we are discussing in this article is the Ryzen 5 or Ryzen 7 class APU. AMD is still expected to introduce a higher-end variant, for Ryzen 9 series, that adds another 12-core chiplet, expanding the total core count to 22.
