ASUS “EOLs” RTX5070Ti, but not really
Three times the charm. ASUS has sent Hardware Unboxed another statement about the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB. This time, ASUS says neither model is discontinued or end-of-life, and that sales will continue.
That directly conflicts with the earlier on-the-record wording Hardware Unboxed said ASUS provided, where the channel was told ASUS models were “end of life” due to supply constraints. The new statement blames “incomplete information” from an ASUS PR representative and points to memory supply limits as the reason cards look scarce in some regions. In other words, they confirmed that their PR representative did in fact say these things, but it wasn’t the full information, it seems:

The timeline so far, per Hardware Unboxed
- Hardware Unboxed asks ASUS (and other partners) for RTX 5070 Ti samples
- An ASUS PR representative says samples are not available due to supply constraints, and calls ASUS models “end of life”
- Hardware Unboxed asks ASUS to clarify. ASUS confirms the “end of life” wording
- Retailers are contacted to verify supply. Retailers report no stock available to buy for stores
- Hardware Unboxed publishes a video based on the on-record ASUS statement plus retailer checks
- NVIDIA says GeForce SKUs are still shipping
- ASUS follows up, saying NVIDIA told ASUS the RTX 5070 Ti is not end of life, and that ASUS is “streamlining some models”
- Hardware Unboxed publishes that clarification
- ASUS follows up again with a third statement, now saying the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5060 Ti 16GB are not discontinued or EOL
- Hardware Unboxed requests RTX 5070 Ti samples again
Earlier, NVIDIA told the media that all GeForce SKUs are still shipping, while also acknowledging memory supply constraints:
Demand for GeForce RTX GPUs is strong, and memory supply is constrained. We continue to ship all GeForce SKUs and are working closely with our suppliers to maximize memory availability.

The open question is what changed inside the channel. A call from NVIDIA to ASUS could explain the reversal, but the third statement does not spell that out. Another option is a quiet adjustment to allocation that improves near-term supply, even if the long-term picture stays tight.
The wider context still points to VRAM-driven prioritization. HKEPC describes a supply policy that favors higher-tier SKUs inside the same memory class, and pushes volume toward lower-memory variants where possible. Under that kind of scheme, RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5060 Ti 16GB can look “dead” at retail without an official EOL.
At this stage, statements are not lining up. Stock and sample availability are the only clean ways to verify the truth. We will only add that we did in fact confirm the allocation changes with our sources at NVIDIA , so either something had changed or this is just PR talking. We will learn more in the coming days.
