Hardware Canucks teases a 24-hour web-browsing laptop result ahead of late-January launches
Hardware Canucks says a thin-and-light laptop has passed 24 hours in the outlet’s web browsing battery test. The outlet added that the run continued with 35% battery remaining .
Web browsing tends to be tougher than local video playback. Wi-Fi stays active and page loads can push short CPU bursts. Past “all-day plus” records often came from rugged systems with oversized battery setups. Some sites measured as much as 29 hours in a continuous Wi-Fi web-surfing test, and the review notes the unit used multiple batteries. However, one thing is sure: these are not thin&light laptop designs.

Hardware Canucks did not name the laptop in the post. So the CPU generation is still unconfirmed. What we do know is that each of three major CPU vendors are releasing new systems: AMD Ryzen AI 400 series, Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 series and Intel Core Ultra 300 “Panther Lake”.

The timing lines up with laptops based on Intel’s Core Ultra 300 (Panther Lake) schedule, with a launch date of January 27, 2026 , which could also explain why the model name is not public yet.
And what did Intel say about Panther Lake’s battery life? Intel said the top Core Ultra X9 388H can reach “as much as 27.1 hours” while streaming Netflix at 1080p in Microsoft Edge, tested on a Lenovo IdeaPad reference design. Intel also added that results can vary a lot based on usage and battery capacity.
