Intel Bartlett Lake-S CPUs with 10 and 12 P-Cores leak out, but they are not coming to consumer market

Intel’s rumored 12P Bartlett Lake-S Core 9 273PE appears, tagged for edge

As you may recall, when Intel was dealing with Raptor Lake instability reports and Arrow Lake was close, a rumor suggested Intel might not be done with LGA-1700. Intel tends to move desktop sockets quickly. LGA-1700 only covered Alder Lake and Raptor Lake.

Raptor Lake also got a refresh with higher clocks. Arrow Lake has already moved to LGA-1851. Based on current roadmaps and leaks, the next desktop platform is expected to move again to LGA-1954.

That makes the situation complicated for buyers. LGA-1851 already looks short-lived, unless Intel follows through with another update after Core 200K. At the same time, Bartlett Lake-S keeps showing up in rumors as a possible extra stop for LGA-1700.

Bartlett Lake-S exists as an edge and embedded platform. Intel announced it alongside Arrow Lake, and the official positioning was network and edge, not consumer desktop. Recent chatter has not changed that, and Jaykihn’s posts are being interpreted the same way by the usual leak trackers.

What appeared in the latest leaks are 10-core and 12-core SKUs with P-cores only. That is different from the Alder, Raptor and Bartlett Lake-S parts Intel has already listed for embedded, which include hybrid configs. A 10P/12P-only stack would also be new for Intel’s recent desktop era, since Alder Lake and Raptor Lake topped out at 8 P-cores.

The Core 9 273PTE and 273PE are the alleged 12P parts, and listings point to up to 5.7 GHz boost. The 10P parts under Core 7 253 are also listed with boosts up to 5.7 GHz, depending on the suffix.

If Intel planned a real consumer rollout for 10P and 12P Bartlett Lake-S, the leak trail would probably look different by now. The parts that surfaced are still tied to the embedded channel, and there is still no sign of a retail stack, boxed SKUs, or clear partner messaging aimed at desktop buyers.

At the same time, if these CPUs are socketed and remain compatible with LGA-1700, it is not hard to imagine the platform showing up on consumer boards anyway, as long as vendors add BIOS support. That would not be the same as an official desktop launch, but it could still turn into a quiet upgrade path for some 600 and 700-series owners.

If that does not happen, LGA-1700’s “extra life” stays limited to rumors and OEM-only parts that never become a real desktop upgrade. Roughly two years after Bartlett Lake-S rumors started circulating, 600 and 700-series owners still have no clear path to a higher-tier drop-in CPU.

In other words, itooks like the LGA-1700 story ends with Raptor Lake, which is a sad story really.
