ASUS reveals updated UEFI BIOS on AMD 800-series Neo boards with search, profiles, and fan tools
ASUS has started previewing the updated UEFI BIOS that will ship with its refreshed AMD 800-series “Neo” AM5 motherboards. ASUS calls this the biggest visual update to the UEFI in about a decade, with a new HD layout and a more modern look.
The UI is meant to provide information faster. ASUS highlights quick access for temperatures, CPU and memory status, boot priority, and one-click toggles for EXPO or DOCP. JJ also points to eight-point fan curve control and cleaner hardware monitor readouts.

ASUS is also pushing BIOS Q-Dashboard as part of the refresh. It is a visual map of board connectors and populated devices, tied to related BIOS settings, so builders can see what is connected and jump to the right menu without guessing which header is which.
A core platform change is the move to a 64MB BIOS chip. ASUS says the added space helps expand the interface and keep room for CPU support over time as new AM5 processors arrive. ASUS also uses the larger ROM to bundle a WiFi driver inside the firmware, so Windows setup can get online without hunting for a separate installer on another PC.

For users that want deeper control, ASUS keeps the usual Advanced Mode toolset and adds more quality-of-life items. The list includes a built-in search, EZ Flash that can update BIOS via the internet from inside BIOS, S.M.A.R.T. status checks, Secure Erase for SSDs, GPU POST info for select ASUS graphics cards, a “Last Modified” change log, SATA port renaming, and profile import or export across BIOS versions. ASUS also lists Q-Fan presets and an Aura on/off “Stealth” toggle for onboard lighting.

ASUS is pairing that with “Essential Mode” for quick tuning without digging through menus. The company lists EZ System Tuning profiles, plus a “Boost Pro” bundle that groups options like GPU Boost, AI Cache Boost, and Turbo Game Mode into preset-style controls.
ASUS is deploying the new HD UEFI interface as part of the 2026 AM5 “Neo” refresh for AMD 800-series boards, spanning the updated X870/X870E lineup as well as the refreshed B850 models shown in the presentation. ASUS has not confirmed if older boards, including the AMD 600-series generation, will receive the same UI update through a BIOS download.
