Zephyr tests single-fan Mini-ITX RTX 4070 Ti SUPER cooler with copper, aluminum, and graphene-coated heatsinks

Chinese company Zephyr has shared a progress update on a mini-ITX “Sakura Blowing Snow X” concept built around the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER. The idea is simple: make a short, single-fan card work at full power, then let users pick the noise target. The important detail: there are no RTX 4070Ti or Ti SUPER models with one fan (at least not within air-cooled model lineup).

The company says development is close to finished and the cooler has already passed testing in a 35°C constant-temperature chamber. In that setup, the card can run at the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER’s full 285W board power while matching stock-level performance.

To get there, Zephyr tested two fan speed options, 3000 RPM and 3800 RPM, across three heatsink module variants. The all-copper module performed best, but it also costs the most. An aluminum module with a graphene-style coating looked premium, but cooling results were close to a standard aluminum module.

3800 RPM pushed more air and reduced temperatures, but noise increased. 3000 RPM was closer to the noise level of Zephyr’s existing “Sakura” single-fan cards, but cooling headroom dropped. Zephyr is running a poll to decide which fan profile to ship.

Pushing the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER into a single-fan mini-ITX form factor is harder than the 200W class cards Zephyr has shipped before, and 285W is the core reason.

NVIDIA launched the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER on January 2024, so nearly two years ago. Zephyr has not shared pricing or an availability window for the mini-ITX “Sakura Blowing Snow X” version yet.
