$1850 worth RTX 5080 ROG Astral for free

Amazon refunds gamer after cancellation, then lets him keep the card after it still ships anyway.

A Reddit user says Amazon refunded an ASUS ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5080 White order after the order was cancelled. A few days later, the graphics card still arrived at the delivery address.

The post went up on Reddit and includes photos of the white card installed in a matching white build. In an edit, the poster says an Amazon chat was contacted to offer payment or a return. Amazon allegedly responded that the refund had already been processed and the item could be kept.

For context, US consumer guidance says unordered merchandise cannot be billed after delivery, and the recipient can treat the item as a gift. US law also describes the same concept for “unordered merchandise” sent without prior consent. This case started as a normal purchase, so the written confirmation from Amazon is more importnat here than than general “unordered item” rules.

High-end RTX 5080 variants like the ROG Astral White edition have been listed around $1,850 and can approach $2,000 depending on seller. ASUS ROG Astral series are one of the most expensive cards on the market.
