AMD 9850X3D already available for preorder in China

AMD is just about to launch its new AM5 processor for gamers. One could say it’s the flagship SKU, given that it will launch with near-identical specs to 9800X3D, just with higher clocks. However, AMD is also said to be working on a dual 3D V-Cache SKU called 9950X3D2. Sadly it was not presented at CES 2026, so we do not when it is coming, if it is coming at all.
Meanwhile, Micro Center says AMD is positioning the chip as a small step up from the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The post cites AMD numbers “about 3%” uplift overall with up to an 8% bump in Counter-Strike 2.

Micro Center says the Ryzen 7 9850X3D will be available at launch on January 28 . AMD’s CES 2026 press release only gives a broader window, saying systems powered by Ryzen 7 9850X3D series processors will be available beginning Q1 2026.
If you’re ready for an upgrade or just looking for the greatest in gaming performance, Micro Center has your back. We’ll have the AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D available on launch day, January 28. And, if you’re not sure what to pair this incredible new chip with, ask one of our knowledgeable associates — they’ll be more than happy to talk you through the entire build process.

In China, the Ryzen 7 9850X3D is already listed on JD with a deposit-style preorder. The final price is not shown yet. Buyers can place an 80 yuan deposit that offsets 240 yuan, and final payment opens at 22:30 on January 29. However, there is a discrepancy between the dates. As you recall, we reported that the sales embargo lifts on January 29. Presumably, that date is still correct, and January 28 applies to preorders. Otherwise, we have two launch dates.
AMD China confirms the CPU launches on January 29, with deliveries expected on January 30. Whether it is January 28, 29, or 30, the gap is small. The main point is that it launches this month.
The only question is the price. Neither Micro Center nor AMD’s official store in China has confirmed pricing yet. When these pre-launch teasers go live a week prior to release, AMD often shares official pricing and dates on social media. I expect confirmation today.
