AMD confirms 9850X3D will be $20 more expensive than 9800X3D
Just as we suspected, AMD has today confirmed the release date and pricing for its new gaming-focused CPU.
In short, our leaks and expectations were spot on. AMD has confirmed that the 9850X3D is launching globally on January 29, as revealed in our embargo leak. Earlier today, we also shared pricing from various retailers in the US and Europe, and our educated guess pointed to a $499 MSRP. That was also correct.
The announcement was shared by David McAfee , who confirmed that the Ryzen 7 9850X3D will be the next X3D desktop processor to reach retail. The post settles questions raised by early store pages that mixed VAT and pre-VAT pricing and showed large gaps between regions.

Those early listings ranged from the low €500s to well above €700 in some EU stores, while US pages showed both placeholder prices and out-of-stock tags. The confirmation now gives a clear reference point for buyers and retailers ahead of launch.
AMD has also not released, or even mentioned, the rumored Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 SKU. The rumored part is described as a dual 3D V-Cache variant, but AMD has not referenced it in the launch message.
So again, the Ryzen 7 9850X3D launches on January 29 with an official US price of $499 . AMD has not communicated official prices for other regions yet.
