AMD ROCm 7.2.0 Release Grants Support of Radeon RX 9060 XT "Low-Power" Card

The ROCm 7.2.0 feature set was reportedly unveiled and detailed by AMD staffers during CES 2026. Two weeks later, this updated version of Team Red's open-source software platform has become available to the public. When perusing fresh patch notes, Phoronix's Michael Larabel noticed that official support of two new-ish RDNA 4 graphics card products had been added. Documentation listed the consumer-grade Radeon RX 9060 XT LP 16 GB model, and workstation-class Radeon AI PRO 9600D 32 GB design. AMD's Navi 44 GPU-based "low-power" card design—likely aimed at SFF PC enthusiasts—is the more mysterious item out of the ROCm 7.2-supported duo. An oddly under-the-rader introduction occurred mid-way through December.

Weeks later, the TechPowerUp ground team examined a Vastarmor-made low profile prototype at the Minisforum booth in Las Vegas. Online speculation points to a possible region exclusive release—Team Red and involved AIBs could be preparing Radeon RX 9060 XT LP cards for the Chinese PC hardware market. Similarly, AMD's Radeon AI PRO R9600D model was unveiled last month , in passively-cooled reference design form. Days later, the usual set of board partners started to showcase their own interpretations of Team Red's Navi 48 XLW GPU-based workstation and server solution. The inclusion of both models in the latest ROCm update could hint at near future product launches.
