ASUS says it is investigating Ryzen 7 9800X3D concerns on B850 and X870E boards
ASUS has responded to claims of Ryzen 9000X3D CPU issues on ASUS motherboards. Last week, we shared a story citing five cases of Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPUs dying , and unlike most reports, no ASRock motherboard was involved. ASRock alone has logged around 150 reported cases, and the list appears to be growing.
Today ASUS has published a statement addressing reports that link AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D failures to ASUS AMD 800-series motherboards. ASUS says an internal review is already underway.
In the statement, ASUS does not dismiss the reports, but ASUS also does not confirm a root cause. ASUS says teams are running preventive checks on compatibility and performance, and ASUS is working with AMD to validate the reported cases. ASUS says the goal is to provide timely solutions and ensure stability and quality.

ASUS recommends updating affected AMD 800-series boards to the latest BIOS using ASUS EZ Flash or BIOS Flashback. ASUS also points to an official support FAQ with instructions. ASUS encourages affected customers, or customers with concerns, to contact ASUS customer service for direct assistance.
The statement follows recent community reports describing systems getting stuck during boot on ASUS AM5 800-series boards, often showing Q-Code 00. Reports span B850 and multiple X870E models, so the complaints are not limited to one motherboard line.
