Swiss store ships Ryzen 7 9850X3D about a week early

Reddit user swaps in Ryzen 7 9850X3D early after online listing goes live too soon

A Reddit user claims to have received a Ryzen 7 9850X3D about a week early, after a Swiss retailer started selling the processor ahead of schedule. The post says the order went through because the store “made a mistake and started selling too early online.”

According to the user, the CPU cost 450 CHF, listed as about $570 with VAT included. The user says the chip replaced a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, which will now be used in another PC.

So, local reseller made a mistake and started selling too early online and I managed to get one out of curiosity.

Early deliveries like this are rare, but they do happen when retailers mis-handle launch windows or ship stock before the official date. And it’s not like 9850X3D isn’t that much different from 9800X3D. The Reddit post does not include performance results, and AMD has not published independent review coverage for the chip yet.

AMD confirmed the Ryzen 7 9850X3D with an official US price of $499. The company’s announcement also set global availability for January 29, which means retail stock and pre-orders are expected to line up around January 28 to January 29, depending on region and store timing.
