The mid-January rumor mill seemed to indicate Intel's deprioritization of the speculated Arc B770 16 GB gaming graphics card model, possibly in favor of getting workstation-grade designs out into the wild. Last week, VideoCardz connected the oft-leaked "BMG-G31" GPU die—allegedly the largest example of Team Blue's Xe2-HPG "Battlemage" chip family—to mysterious Arc Pro "B70 and B65" models. In a follow-up report, the online publication cited new information—as disclosed by Bionic_Squash—that concentrated on Intel's supposed "Big Battlemage" flagship card. In a social media interaction with Orlak29 (another source of pre-release info), Bionic_Squash predicted a potential first quarter launch of the claimed "Arc Pro B70 32 GB SKU," probably alongside a Core Ultra 200K+ " Arrow Lake Refresh " processor family announcement. Previously, the latter product range was linked to a probable March/April release window .
When asked about Team Blue's revised plans for the consumer graphics card market, Bionic_Squash posited that: "(the B770 is) not financially viable, I don't think it's going to launch anytime soon...if at all." According to VideoCardz's mid-month insider report, two unnamed contacts—allegedly involved with Intel AICs—suggested a non-supply of "Arc B770 test boards and finalized specifications" to interested parties. This particular model likely faces an uncertain future, due to the ongoing memory crisis and current-gen competition. Additionally, some of the PC gaming community's perception of "Battlemage" being old hat, at this point in time, could be another factor. Many would prefer that Intel simply move onto getting "Celestial" graphics architecture deployed in next-gen desktop cards.
