Exclusive: Intel Arc Pro B65 and B70 both feature 32GB memory, with 20 to 32 Xe2 cores configurations

Intel Arc Pro B70 has 32 Xe2 cores

We received more information on the Arc Pro Battlemage update scheduled for this quarter. The first reports only mentioned SKU names. Earlier today, we learned it is targeting a Q1 release, and we now also have specifications that were missing from earlier coverage.

Both Arc Pro B70 and Pro B65 are based on the BMG-G31 GPU, which is now confirmed. The memory configuration is also the same. Both cards are said to feature 32GB of GDDR6 on a 256-bit bus. The main difference is GPU core configuration.

BMG-G31 is said to scale up to 32 Xe2 cores, which equals 4096 FP32 cores on the full die. This configuration is expected to ship as Arc Pro B70. Arc Pro B65 is expected to have fewer cores, and the core count should match Arc Pro B60, listed at 2560 cores (20 Xe2 cores).

We also learned more about how this launch is being handled. There is still no update on a consumer or gaming variant, but the drivers are reportedly ready for such a card. Board partners already have BMG-G31 for testing, but only in the Pro form, not a gaming model.

In theory, nothing stops an AIB from selling a triple-fan design with ARGB lighting, but Intel likely would not support that. Based on conversations we have had, it appears Intel has put the gaming variant on hold, possibly to see how the memory market develops. This does not look promising for anyone expecting a near-term launch. The longer the delay, the less sense a release makes. It also echoes the Alchemist situation, which arrived close to a year late and quickly ended up competing against next-generation GPUs from AMD and NVIDIA. Intel still has some time, but not much.
