NVIDIA RTX Remix update is now available with Logic triggers for dynamic effects

Modders can now use RTX Remix Linux for event-driven lighting, fog, and weather changes

NVIDIA has published a new RTX Remix update that adds a “Logic” system aimed at making graphics mods react to what happens in-game, without requiring access to a game’s source code or engine tools.

RTX Remix is a modding platform built around an RTX Remix runtime and creator tools. It works by capturing and upgrading rendering in older PC games, letting creators replace materials and assets, add path tracing, and apply RTX features such as DLSS. NVIDIA has already used RTX Remix as the base for projects like Portal with RTX, and it is also used by teams working on Half-Life 2 RTX content.

The main change in this update is the new node-based Logic editor. NVIDIA says Logic can connect more than 30 event types to over 900 graphics settings, so effects can be triggered by conditions such as camera state, world bounds, object state, time flow, or key inputs. NVIDIA also claims support across more than 165 games, focusing on titles where Remix can hook into the rendering pipeline.

In simple terms, the update is meant to reduce “global” visual changes that apply everywhere. NVIDIA’s own example is weather: snow and fog can now be limited to outdoor spaces based on player position, instead of affecting indoor areas. NVIDIA also shows Logic being used for interactive visuals, like switching lighting and weather presets when a door opens, changing material displacement when an item is held, or enabling a night-vision style post-process when a weapon zoom is active.

NVIDIA says 2025 saw over 50 Remix mods and more than 20 community tools, including compatibility wrappers for Unreal Engine 1 and 2 and Unity, plus workflow plugins for Blender and Adobe Substance. NVIDIA also points to community-trained material tools, including a project called “PBR Fusion 3,” and mentions a refreshed look for the Remix runtime menu contributed by community developer “xoxor4d.”

The RTX Remix Logic update is available now through the NVIDIA app.
