AMD Ryzen 9 9950x3dv2 spotted in ASUS 9850X3D review
AMD did not announce the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 at CES 2026, despite expectations that the chip would appear alongside the Ryzen 7 9850X3D. The absence stood out because earlier leaks pointed to a joint reveal. Since then, signs continue to surface that the processor exists and is already in testing.
Leak reports over the past few months have referenced the 9950X3D2 in internal documents and partner material. OEM partners, including Dell , have been mentioned as having early access. These references suggest the chip is moving through validation rather than being a concept product.
A new hint comes from ASUS. In a video focused on overclocking the Ryzen 7 9850X3D, recorded by ASUS China GM Tony Yu, a desktop folder labeled “9950x3dv2” is visible in the background. This means ASUS is already doing testing so ASUS already has hardware or firmware tied to the upcoming dual 3D V-Cache CPU.

Earlier rumors claimed both the 9850X3D and 9950X3D2 were planned for announcement at the same event. According to those reports, a late change pushed the higher-end SKU back.
The most recent development is a certification filing that appears to reference the 9950X3D2. Such filings usually indicate preparation for a later launch, but no timing details are attached.
