AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D is now available, 9800X3D drops to $444

9850X3D debuts at 499, while 9800X3D gets cheaper

AMD’s Ryzen 7 9850X3D is now officially on sale. The review embargo lifted yesterday , and the chip is broadly available today with a $499 list price.

That puts the 9850X3D about $30 above the Ryzen 7 9800X3D’s launch MSRP. Based on early reviews, the generational uplift over the 9800X3D looks small in a lot of gaming workloads, which makes the value discussion unavoidable.

The timing is also interesting because the 9850X3D landing appears to have pushed the 9800X3D down on Amazon. If current pricing holds, the 9800X3D may end up being the better buy for most people who just want top-tier gaming performance without paying extra for limited gains.

If saving money is the priority, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is also back in the conversation. At today’s price, it undercuts both newer parts by a wide margin while still offering strong gaming results.
