Brazilian modders push a damaged RTX 5070 Ti to #1 in Superposition 8K
A heavily damaged NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti has reportedly hit a world #1 score in Unigine Superposition 8K after an extended live repair and tuning session.

Back in October , Paulo Gomes and his team revived a GeForce RTX 5070 Ti card back from being dead. The zombie card literally had a hole in the PCB and the only way to save it was either by swapping components or by taking a longer route by manually attaching a new power section and giving it a try with donor power delivery.
Obviously, Brazilian modders are known for taking a more difficult way, so they attached an ASUS GeForce RTX 2080 Ti PCB as a base , with the 5070 Ti only outputting video at low resolutions and suffering a reported ~400 mV voltage drop under load. Early on, performance was said to land around RTX 3070 levels, with the system detecting only PCIe 4.0 x4.

During the roughly seven-hour live stream together with Enzo Túlio, from the 1155 do ET channel, the group said it fixed display signal issues to restore 1080p output, resolved a Windows driver conflict that triggered black screens, and reinforced multiple power/ground paths by soldering extra wires on NVVDD, MSVDD, and GND. The goal was to cut conductor resistance and reduce voltage loss between the adapted PCB and the 5070 Ti. The setup also changed mid-stream, swapping a 13th-gen Core i5 platform running PCIe 4.0 x4 for a AMD Ryzen 5 3600 system running PCIe 3.0 x16, doubling available bandwidth from the team’s stated 8 GB/s to 16 GB/s.
Once stability improved, the team ran games and then shifted into iterative benchmark tuning. There were rapid thermal spikes during testing, including a jump from 50°C to 80°C in about a second, plus a 12V wire nearing 100°C. Since the card reportedly could not report power telemetry due to the earlier damage, but they have used external power measurement software to track draw during the session.
New world record
Ignoring that Unigine Superposition is not really that popular benchmark anymore, it is still their favorite tool to test. They managed to progressively score higher scores during their testing: 8400, 9000, 9600, 9800, 10600, and 10900 points, followed by a best run at 11106. That result landed world #1 in Superposition’s ranking and on HWBOT , with a brief back-and-forth against a viewer who temporarily posted a higher score before the team reclaimed the top spot.

The final technical recap included a ~3.23 GHz GPU clock, memory reaching 34 Gbps “effortlessly,” and a belief that 36 Gbps could have been possible with better scaling headroom. Voltage drop was said to be reduced from ~400 mV down to ~30 mV. The final score reached “11,150 points”.
