OCCT adds built-in Intel CPU tuning, starting with Xeon 600 Granite Rapids

OCBASE and Intel bring CPU tuning controls into OCCT for Granite Rapids

OCBASE has announced a partnership with Intel that adds a new processor tuning feature inside OCCT, timed with Intel’s Xeon 600 Granite Rapids workstation launch . The idea is to put tuning and validation in one place, without requiring separate tuning utilities.

The new tool starts with Intel CPUs, beginning with Granite Rapids. However, OCCT will not stop adding other architectures, including AMD, because the goal is to have one software for all processors. OCBASE says the goal is to centralize the key tuning parameters in OCCT’s interface, so performance tweaks and stability checks can happen in the same app.

OCCT will add a dedicated “Tuning” section. OCBASE says the feature supports per-core clock adjustments and lets changes be made without leaving OCCT, so users can move between tuning and stress testing in a single workflow. Built-in guardrails are meant to reduce common tuning mistakes while leaving full control available for advanced users.

Linux support is also part of the announcement. OCBASE says the UI has been updated to allow live CPU parameter changes while a stress test is running, which speeds up the tune, test, adjust loop.

The timing lines up with Intel’s push for overclockable Xeon 600 workstation parts. Intel is offering unlocked Xeon 600 models marked with an X suffix. Of course this feature and announcement are aimed at enthusiasts, as large OEMs such as Dell, HP, and Lenovo are unlikely to ship overclocked systems due to the usual warranty and risk trade-offs.

OCBASE says the tuning tool is in closed beta and a public release is expected in the coming weeks. An Intel-themed OCCT skin (included in the header image) was also announced. More information from the author of OCCT himself.
