Report: AMD board partners may push more 8GB Radeon cards
Rising video memory costs are shaping Radeon planning for 2026. Posts shared on Board Channels claim AMD board partners are preparing another adjustment for gaming GPUs.

According to the post , cost pricing for many models already went up by about 5 to 10% in January. The same source says another increase could land in February or March. The size of the next move is not stated. Earlier price increase round translated into up to about $40 on some cards depending on memory configuration.
The Board Channels post describe a strategy aimed at matching pricing more closely against comparable NVIDIA models. If that happens, the remaining price gap between Radeon and GeForce SKUs could shrink. No public comment from AMD or board partners is included.

The same forum post says the January move pushed distributors to stock up. More inventory sitting in the channel can lead to uneven availability if sellers hold cards ahead of another adjustment.
Separately, another post claims AMD will tweak supply planning for the mainland China market. The claim is a stronger focus on 8GB cards, with more production allocated to models such as Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB and Radeon RX 7650 GRE. For 16GB cards, the post says focus stays on Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB and Radeon RX 9070 XT, while Radeon RX 9070 and Radeon RX 9070 GRE output is reduced. The GRE model was never released outside China.

Of course, as usual with these reports, this is first-hand information from board partners and mainly reflects the Chinese market. It may take a while for these changes to impact the global market. However, we have not seen the RX 9070 XT at MSRP in the US for a while now, so earlier price-hike rumors appear to be true.
