Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and MFG 6x in April 2026

HardwareLuxx reports that NVIDIA has now tied Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and Multi Frame Generation 6x to an April 2026 release window. The timing was shared during a company visit in Munich, according to Andreas Schilling.
At CES 2026, NVIDIA announced Dynamic Multi Frame Generation as a driver-controlled mode that aims for a user’s target refresh rate, instead of holding a fixed MFG multiplier. In the example given, a 240 Hz display only needs 240 fps, so a static setting can overshoot that target depending on the scene.
With Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, the driver can switch between multipliers based on scene load, including using 6x in heavier sections and dropping to 3x or 2x when demand falls. The multiplier can change quickly, and the demo that HardwareLuxx saw did not show issues even with frequent switching.
Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and Multi Frame Generation 6x are planned for spring 2026. At the event in Munich, NVIDIA revealed that both features will be available starting in April. So we’ll have to wait a few more weeks.

The same April window also covers Multi Frame Generation 6x, which NVIDIA previously grouped into a broader “spring” timeframe for GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs. HardwareLuxx says RTX 50 Series owners should get access once the April release lands.
NVIDIA already offers Multi Frame Generation, which can generate up to three additional frames. Intel recently released a similar technology, but official support is currently limited to the Panther Lake series. Users have also found a way to enable it on other architectures. AMD does not offer Multi Frame Generation, and currently supports only single-frame generation.
