ASRock releases BIOS 4.07.AS01 beta for X870 and X870E boards

Today ASRock added a new beta BIOS, version 4.07.AS01 for eight AMD 800-series boards. The release notes are short: AGESA ComboAM5 PI 1.3.0.0a, “Optimized Memory Compatibility,” and “ Resolve a boot failure occurring on certain CPU configurations.”
ASRock did not post a separate press release specifically for BIOS 4.07.AS01. The company’s most recent public update is a February 5 statement about Ryzen 9000 issues , where it says it is running internal reviews and working with AMD to validate system performance while “optimizing BIOS.”
Boards listed with BIOS 4.07.AS01 (Beta) on February 7:
- X870 Pro RS
- X870 Pro RS WiFi
- X870 Pro-A WiFi
- X870 Riptide WiFi
- X870 Steel Legend WiFi
- X870E Nova WiFi
- X870E Taichi
- X870E Taichi Lite

Most cases were reported on Reddit. Users continue to track user reports about Ryzen 9000-series failures and instability on AM5 systems, current number sits at 183 cases for Ryzen 7 9800X3D failures only.
However, it is not clear whether the “boot failure” fix in 4.07.AS01 targets Ryzen 9000 specifically. AMD 800-series boards support Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 processors, and ASRock’s release notes do not name a CPU family. However, this could be the first step in ASRock addressing the booting issues. So if you have a ‘dead’ CPU, perhaps this BIOS will revive it?
