Aqua Computer’s €100 Ampinel arrives for 12V-2×6 GPUs after November 2025 slip

Aqua Computer’s Ampinel, an add-on device meant to protect the 12V-2×6 GPU power connector, went up for sale on today with a list price of about €100 . The launch slipped past the original November 2025 target, and that the price moved up from the earlier €80 figure.
According to ComputerBase, the hardware concept is the same as previously shown, but Aqua Computer attributes both the delay and the higher price to additional development work in software and firmware. The Ampinel’s headline function is active “load balancing”, it can compensate for uneven current distribution across the connector’s individual rails, and that behavior can be configured or disabled in software.
The device is sold in two variants, Type A and Type B, which correspond to the connector orientation on the graphics card. The official shop listings put both versions at €99.90 including VAT, and at the time of writing they show “out of stock” with delivery time up to 60 days for Germany. Aqua Computer also states Ampinel was developed for NVIDIA RTX 4000 and RTX 5000 series cards, with AMD support described as work in progress pending validation.

Still cheaper than WireView Pro II, but has no special warranty.
Of course, the direct competitor to Ampinel is Thermal Grizzly’s WireView Pro II. WireView Pro II is positioned more as an in-line monitor and protection device, while Ampinel adds active current regulation. On pricing, WireView Pro II is commonly listed around €119.90 in Europ e, so Ampinel undercuts it by roughly €20 on MSRP in that region, although street prices vary by retailer and stock.
Thermal Grizzly’s own product page also highlights an “extended warranty” angle tied to using the device, something ComputerBase notes Aqua Computer does not offer for Ampinel. You can read more about WireView II here .
