AMD surpasses 40% server CPU revenue share for the first time

AMD now owns 40% of server and desktop CPU revenue share, according to Mercury Research

AMD shared a summary of Mercury Research data for Q4 2025, showing the company reached 41.3% server CPU revenue share. It is the first time AMD’s server revenue share has been reported above 40% in this dataset.

In servers, AMD reported 28.8% unit share and 41.3% revenue share for Q4 2025. That is up 1.0 points Q/Q and 3.1 points Y/Y in unit share, and up 1.8 points Q/Q and 4.9 points Y/Y in revenue share.

On the client side, AMD reported 36.4% desktop unit share and 42.6% desktop revenue share in Q4 2025. Mobile was listed at 26.0% unit share and 24.9% revenue share, with a 4.1-point Q/Q increase in mobile unit share.

For combined client CPUs, AMD reported 29.2% unit share and 31.2% revenue share in Q4 2025. Across total x86 CPUs, AMD reported 29.2% unit share and 35.4% revenue share, up 2.9 points Q/Q and 6.8 points Y/Y in revenue share.

AMD’s chart notes that revenue share is calculated by AMD based on Mercury Research data. Ryan Shrout also pointed to the gap between unit and revenue share as a sign of a higher-priced mix, and said Intel will need strong upcoming products to respond across mobile and desktop.
