BIOSTAR targets mainstream PCs with DDR5 16GB UDIMM 4800 and 5600 MT/s

BIOSTAR is a company that advertises itself as a ‘motheboard’ brand is slowly expanding into new markets, including industrial PCs, graphics cards, and storage. They also have memory products, but their lineup is quite limited.
The company has just announced new DDR5 16GB UDIMM modules in 4800 MT/s and 5600 MT/s variants, positioning them as stability and compatibility focused parts for mainstream desktops and system integrators. The company says the modules target everyday workloads like office PCs, HTPC builds, NAS systems, and general content creation, rather than high-end tuned kits.
Both SKUs are standard 288-pin unbuffered UDIMMs and are rated for 1.1 V operation. BIOSTAR also highlights an onboard, JEDEC-certified power management IC (PMIC) for tighter voltage regulation, plus on-die ECC support, which is a built-in DDR5 feature intended to improve internal data integrity during operation.

BIOSTAR lists the rated timings as CL40-40-40-77 for the 4800 MT/s model and CL46-45-45-90 for the 5600 MT/s model. The company also calls out a 32-bank architecture and states broad platform compatibility across Intel and AMD desktop systems.

The move sits below BIOSTAR’s existing faster DDR5 offerings that are marketed toward gaming, such as DDR5-6400 kits. Based on the official ratings and positioning, these new 16GB modules look aimed at budget or baseline DDR5 upgrades where price, stability, and wide compatibility matter more than higher frequency or tighter timings. The company has not, however, mentioned pricing in the press release that we received.
