Congatec Panther Lake embedded modules add LPCAMM2 and up to 96GB LPDDR5X options

Congatec puts Panther Lake on small embedded module boards

This isn’t really targeted at consumers, in fact is the exact opposite. Congatec has published details on five new computer-on-modules built around Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, also referred to as Panther Lake. The lineup targets edge and embedded designs that want integrated AI acceleration without a discrete accelerator card.

Congatec’s overview lists up to 16 CPU cores, an integrated NPU5 rated at up to 50 TOPS, and integrated Xe3 graphics with up to 12 Xe cores. The company quotes up to 180 TOPS of total platform AI performance when combining CPU, NPU, and GPU compute. While they don’t name the eaxct SKUs, the fact that we have full 12 Xe Core variant confirms we are looking at the top of the lineup, with the exception to X-Series chips.

There are five variants of the embedded Panther Lake boards. Featuring either LPPDR5X memory support, SODIMM or even LPCAMM2 which is nice to see on a new device. So memory-wise, this platform covers all possibilities. The name of these boards may be a bit cryptic though.

The COM Express Type 10 conga-MC1000 uses soldered LPDDR5X up to 32GB at up to 8533 MT/s.  The COM-HPC Mini conga-HPC/mPTL also uses soldered LPDDR5X, starting at up to 32GB with options up to 96GB, and lists a maximum of 8533 MT/s. For socketed LPDDR5X, the COM-HPC Client Size A conga-HPC/cPTL lists an LPCAMM2 slot with options up to 96GB at up to 7466 MT/s.  The COM Express Compact conga-TC1000 uses DDR5 SO-DIMM memory up to 128GB, with congatec listing up to 7200 MT/s on supported variants.  The ruggedized conga-TC1000r switches to LPCAMM2 and lists up to 96GB of LPDDR5X at up to 8533 MT/s.

When it comes to board sizes, these span from COM Express Type 10, COM Express Compact, COM-HPC Mini, and COM-HPC Client. Congatec’s knowledge base lists example sizes of 84 mm x 55 mm (COM Express Type 10), 95 mm x 95 mm (COM Express Compact), 95 mm x 70 mm (COM-HPC Mini), and 95 mm x 120 mm (COM-HPC Client Size A).

There’s no such thing as release date or pricing here, not mentioned on a product page or in press release. Those who are interested need to contact Congatec with an inquiry. I suppose we are not talking about 1-item orders.
