Steam introduces hardware specs attachment for reviews, plus opt-in FPS data

Steam is rolling out a new Steam Reviews option that lets users attach their PC hardware specs when they write or update a user review. The change is listed in the February 12, 2026 beta client notes, and it applies to reviews posted on a game’s store page.
Performance comments in a review can be viewed alongside the reviewer’s hardware, which should make it easier to judge whether the experience is likely to match your own setup. The hardware specs attachment is optional.
I just checked how this looks, and either the support is not available for my Steam client or something is messed up.

Beta notes also introduce an opt-in “anonymized framerate data” setting. Valve says this collects gameplay framerate data without connecting it to a Steam account, while still associating the data with the type of hardware being used. Valve also says the framerate collection is currently focused on devices running SteamOS.

Another related tweak targets Steam Deck Verified feedback. When a user disagrees with a Deck Verified rating, Steam now prompts for a reason, while keeping the reason field optional.
This is currently a beta feature. On Steam Deck, it is part of the Preview/Beta channel update dated February 12, 2026.
