Thermal Grizzly releases WireView Pro II software 1.0.5 and firmware v03 update

WireView Pro II update enables PC data logging and device configuration via USB

Thermal Grizzly has released its first public PC software suite for the WireView Pro II GPU power monitoring tool, alongside its first official firmware update. Both are optional, but Thermal Grizzly says using them together enables full functionality, including PC-side configuration and data logging.

The new software, version 1.0.5, is a portable app that connects to the WireView Pro II over USB using the included cable. Once connected, the device can stream measurements to the PC in real time, while the software exposes the same core functions available on the device plus extra configuration and finer-grained adjustments.

The software primarily allows additional functions to be configured on the WireView Pro II:

  • Access to logged data
  • Fine-tuning of settings
  • Setting the display start page

Thermal Grizzly lists three core software features: control of supported functions (including per-pin current distribution limits), expanded configuration controls versus firmware-only operation, and logging plus export of power and temperature data for longer-term analysis of 12V-2×6 behavior. The company also says you do not need to keep the software running during normal operation since the device controls its own functions after configuration.

Software 1.0.5 is currently Windows-only, with a Linux version described as under development for a later update. Thermal Grizzly also recommends deleting older software versions before using a new one, extracting the downloaded archive, then launching the WireView2 application without installing it. The UI is split into five views: Overview, Monitoring, Logging, Device, and Settings.

Alongside the software, Thermal Grizzly is shipping firmware v03 (included in the software package) that is flashed over USB through the app. Thermal Grizzly says the update enables full software control that was not available on the preinstalled firmware, improves averaging for steadier readings, and revises the current-imbalance alarm trigger from 30% at at least 5 A to 40% at at least 6 A per pin.
