Intel brings XeSS 3 Multi-Frame Generation across discrete Alchemist, Battlemage GPUs, and even Arc integrated solutions

Intel brings multi-frame generation across its discrete and integrated stack

Intel Arc driver 32.0.101.8509 expands XeSS 3 Multi-Frame Generation support to Alchemist, Battlemage, and Core Ultra integrated graphics

No more mods or tricks. Intel has just released a new WHQL graphics driver for Windows, version 32.0.101.8509. The package targets Intel Arc B-Series and Arc A-Series discrete graphics, plus Intel Core Ultra processors with Intel Arc Graphics.

The main change called out in Intel’s highlights is “ XeSS 3: Multi-Frame Generation Extended Platform Support. ” Intel says the feature now supports Arc B-Series discrete GPUs ( Battlemage ), Arc A-Series discrete GPUs ( Alchemist ), Arc graphics in Core Ultra Series 2 processors ( Lunar Lake and Arrow Lake-H ), and Arc graphics in Core Ultra processors ( Meteor Lake ).

This is also the first time Intel is listing official Multi-Frame Generation support across these integrated graphics platforms in the public driver notes.

Multi-Frame Gen even on integrated graphics

I know many of you didn’t believe that Intel would bring this tech across older GPU series, but this is indeed happening today. As mentioned, you can now even enable XeSS Multi-Frame Gen on the Alchemist Arc A380 GPU. No other GPU vendor gives you such an option; in fact, multi-frame gen isn’t even available from some competitors like AMD.

Intel describes XeSS Multi-Frame Generation as an extension of XeSS Frame Generation. Intel says it can insert up to three AI-generated images between two rendered images, moving from a 1:1 generated-to-rendered ratio to up to 3:1, depending on the selected mode.

It’s worth remembering that Intel’s current XeSS stack is no longer just a single tech. It is split across multiple features. XeSS 2 includes XeSS Super Resolution, XeSS Frame Generation, and Xe Low Latency, and Intel notes that XeSS Frame Generation requires Xe Low Latency to be enabled. This driver update focuses on widening platform coverage for the XeSS 3 Multi-Frame Generation part of the stack.

Also keep in mind your mileage may vary. We recently covered pre-release testing on Arc A380 , which frankly wasn’t giving the best experience at maximum 4x multi-frame generation; it is simply not powerful enough for fast-paced games. However you’re playing slower games, perhaps 2x-3x is something you may consider.
