MSI RTX 5090 LIGHTNING lands on ebay with price ranging from $7,000 to $14,000

MSI costs up to $14,000 on eBay, but the card is still in stock at its original price

Several new listings for the MSI GeForce RTX 5090 LIGHTNING Z have appeared on eBay with asking prices far above typical retail, and far above what RTX 5090 cards usually sell for. Buy It Now prices range from about $7,785 up to $14,999, before shipping and taxes.

Those asking prices look hard to justify because the card is still in stock in the United Kingdom. Even if you imported it from the UK, including the cost of a shipping proxy, it would likely cost less than buying from eBay. The UK price is £4,999, which is about $6,827, and that is cheaper than the lowest listing shown.

The RTX 5090 LIGHTNING Z is a halo product that MSI is marketing as a limited release. MSI has said it made 1,300 cards, and an estimated 100 to 200 units were distributed to reviewers and influencers. In the US and Taiwan, the card was only available through lottery-style draws . In these countries, people who wished to purchase this card literally had to win a chance to buy.

If you still want this model, UK retail looks like the most direct option while stock remains available. If eBay is the better route for you, expect to pay at least $1,000 more than the UK price. The lowest pricing for RTX 5090 cards more broadly is still around $3,500, based on what is currently available.

If you are buying for limited-edition appeal and resale potential, the LIGHTNING Z is possibly a candidate. If you want the highest out-of-box performance, this model also stands out because it unlocks 800W and 1000W power modes, which most RTX 5090 designs do not expose.

If your priority is simply a GB202 GPU, two standard RTX 5090 32GB cards for the price of one LIGHTNING Z, or even a workstation-class RTX 6000 96GB, may be a better use of budget.
