Display Driver Uninstaller 18.1.4.2 update focuses on Intel components and WSL leftovers
Many GPU enthusiasts consider Display Driver Uninstaller one of the most important tools for graphics cards. For others this may be unnecessary but if you ran into issues, this would probably be the first recommendation to try.

Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) is a Windows utility meant to remove graphics drivers and related components more thoroughly than the normal “Uninstall” option in Windows or the vendor installers. People typically use it when a GPU driver install goes wrong, when they keep getting crashes or black screens after updating, or when switching between GPU vendors (for example moving from AMD to NVIDIA, or Intel to AMD) and they want to avoid leftover files, services, registry entries, and driver store packages causing conflicts. It is also used before doing a “clean install” of a driver to rule out corruption or bad settings.
It is not something you need for regular driver updates. A normal driver install or the vendor’s “clean installation” option is usually enough. DDU is a troubleshooting tool, and it can remove vendor control panels, profiles, and other related software, so you should expect to reconfigure settings after.

Developer Wagnard has released Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) 18.1.4.2 , a maintenance update for Windows 7 through Windows 11 systems using NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel graphics. The changelog lists a fix for potential combo-box selection issues, Intel cleanup that now removes a non-associated IGS Software Component, expanded NVIDIA WSL cleanup that targets additional files under System32lxss, plus general monitor cleanup changes and a Hungarian translation update.
The release post also flags a portable-build issue where Italian settings could be applied by default. Wagnardsoft says the portable package was re-uploaded with the language settings corrected, and users who grabbed the earlier portable build can delete setting.xml in the config as a workaround. Separately, the post repeats a Windows 11 24H2 Safe Mode note about PIN login behavior (not attributed to DDU), and reminds BitLocker users to keep their recovery key available before rebooting into Safe Mode.
