First ASRock Radeon RX 9070 XT Taichi White tested in Japan

I’m sure many of you already forgot about this card, but we have not. ASRock has not launched it yet, or at least we have not seen any retailer offering it for sale. Still, Japanese outlet GDM has already published a review, and it is sponsored.
The Radeon RX 9070 XT Taichi White is, as the name suggests, a white-colored version of the existing Taichi model. It also has one key change compared to the original, a built-in screen. As far as we are aware, this is ASRock’s first graphics card with an onboard display, and it is the first look at how the feature works in practice.

GDM’s early review covers the Radeon RX 9070 XT Taichi White with a focus on the built-in LCD and its software setup. The display is labeled “LCD Information Center.” The review says it can show system information, plus widgets like date and time and weather, with separate settings for time zone and weather configuration.
The LCD is controlled through ASRock’s Polychrome SYNC utility, which is usually used for RGB lighting. GDM says the same app can manage the graphics card and other compatible components. The LCD options appear in a dedicated, tab-based interface.

Animations must be 320×170 pixels and up to 1.4MB, while still images are also 320×170 pixels but limited to 450KB. After a short loading period, the selected animation or image appears on the card, and the reviewers report their custom files worked without issues. Some competing implementations offer more automation for formatting and conversion, depending on the vendor and model.

Outside the LCD feature, GDM tested the card in a system with an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K and an ASRock Z890 Taichi AQUA motherboard, with the BIOS set to “Performance” mode. Under load, they report the GPU exceeded its 3,100MHz rated boost clock and reached a maximum of 3,296MHz. The review also includes gaming and thermal testing, and the full results are available at the source below. Keep in mind it is a sponsored review.
