Four 'extraordinary' Renaissance paintings stolen from Italian museum
Four Renaissance paintings of "extraordinary value" have been stolen from a museum in Sicily, Italy's culture minister has said.
Alessandro Giuli confirmed that three panels of the Polyptych of San Gregorio and a double-sided panel of the Madonna with Child and Christ in Pietà, all attributed to Antonello da Messina, were taken Regional Interdisciplinary Museum of Messina on Saturday night.
Police are now probing how the thieves were able to enter the museum without triggering its alarms and who may have been responsible.

Man, 36, charged in unprovoked stabbing of TTC employee
A Toronto man has been charged in connection with the unprovoked stabbing of a TTC employee on Friday.
According to investigators, an on-duty electrical worker was taking a break in the Bloor-Yonge area shortly after 8 a.m.
It is alleged that 36-year-old Anthony Christopher David McLaughlin approached the employee from behind and stabbed him before fleeing the area.
The victim was transported to hospital by paramedics with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. He is now home recovering.
