Released this week was FluidX3D 3.7, the latest feature update to this computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software that is CPU/GPU accelerated by way of OpenCL.

Making FluidX3D 3.7 exciting is a significant local memory optimization to its Q-criterion isosurface rendering kernel. GNOME 51 Could End Up Replacing System Tools With "Resources" App

The current GNOME System Monitor is on track to be replaced by the GNOME Resources app for as soon as the GNOME 51 desktop release.

Linux 7.1-rc4 Seeing The Latest Laptop Quirks

Steam Controller Mapping Merged To SDL Library

A few days ago the widely-used SDL library added support for the new Steam Controller without depending upon the Steam client . Now another improvement for the new Steam Controller has been merged to this widely-used library for cross-platform games/apps with software/hardware abstractions.

Overnight the Steam Controller (2026) mapping was merged to the Simple DirectMedia Layer so that all buttons are now properly mapped for the controller.

AMD ROCm 7.13 Released With Instinct MI350P Support, More Ryzen AI APUs

ROCm 7.13 was released today as the newest ROCm Core SDK Preview in working toward what will presumably be called ROCm 8.0 later in the year.

Last October ROCm 7.9 came as a technology preview paired with TheRock build system and beginning a series of newer tech preview releases compared to the current ROCm 7.0-7.2 stable releases. Those tech preview releases have continued with ROCm 7.13 debuting today and packing expanded hardware support and other improvements.
