BEIJING (Reuters) - Jiangxi Copper Co Ltd said on Wednesday chairman Long Ziping had stepped down at his legal retirement age and that general manager Zheng Gaoqing would take over the top position in the integrated copper producer.
Long, 60, had been chairman of China’s top copper producer for almost exactly three years.
He oversaw Jiangxi Copper’s takeover of Shandong Humon Smelting Co Ltd, which boosted its copper and gold output considerably, and its acquisition of a large stake in Canada-listed miner First Quantum Minerals

TBILISI (Reuters) - Georgia has banned weddings and other types of public ceremony from Sept. 10 and postponed theater and cinema openings to contain the spread of the new coronavirus as the number of daily infections has risen, the government said on Wednesday.
Georgia reported 44 new cases of the virus on Wednesday, bringing its total to 1,773. The ex-Soviet republic of 3.7 million people has reported 19 deaths, far fewer than other countries in the South Caucasus region.
