This put in place a chain of events that led to the demise of the DSLR and established Sony’s position as a serious camera maker. Asobinet spotted a new patent that would allow you to control some camera aspects through movement instead of having to operate a menu or buttons:

It seems that a vibration device will be embedded in the grip. The vibration device would be a mean of communicating to the user during various operations and actions such as shutter and mode switching.
