Woman charged in alleged hate-motivated assault in downtown Toronto
A woman has been arrested in an alleged hate-motivated assault in downtown Toronto over the weekend.
Police say they were called to an assault in the area of Dundas and Sherbourne streets on Sunday.
It’s alleged the suspect approached the victim from behind and shoved her to the ground, causing her to fall into the roadway. During the assault, the woman allegedly made anti-East Asian comments towards the victim.
The victim sustained minor injuries and the suspect fled before police arrived.

A man who is wanted in connection to the alleged murder of his parents last week was spotted in High Park on Monday night, Peel police say.
Peel police say Jordan Sangwin, 46, was seen in High Park around 11 p.m. and is believed to be travelling on foot. Police also released a video of him walking.

A suspect has been charged with murder in connection to the shooting death of a 28-year-old Toronto man.
Emergency crews responded to the area of Eglinton Avenue West and Yarrow Road near Keele Street around 2:15 a.m. for a medical call.
Police say officers located an unresponsive man in a laneway, suffering from gunshot wounds. Life-saving measures were performed, and the man was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
