Man accused of shooting at Peel police officer is arrested
A man was arrested early Sunday morning after allegedly shooting at a Peel Regional Police (PRP) officer in Mississauga.
Authorities were conducting an investigation in the area of Torbram Road and Lucknow Drive at approximately 4:30 a.m. when a man allegedly pulled out a gun and shot at a cop.
“The officer was not struck or injured,” PRP wrote in a statement to CityNews. “Officers subsequently arrested the suspect, who was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Man falls to his death during rock concert at Madison Square Garden
NEW YORK (AP) — A 51-year-old man fell to his death during a concert at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night, police said.
Officers responding to a 911 call around 9:51 p.m. found the man unconscious and unresponsive with injuries indicating a fall from an “elevated position,” New York City Police said in a statement.
He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police have not released his name.

Toronto police have arrested and charged a man who was wanted in connection with a robbery and aggravated assault investigation in the city’s Riverside neighbourhood earlier this month.
According to investigators, a victim was unloading their car in the area of Dundas Street East and Broadview Avenue just before 5 p.m. on June 12, when an unknown man approached the victim and assaulted them before taking off with some of the victim’s property.

A major collision shut down the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 at Kipling Avenue early Sunday morning.
According to Ontario Provincial Police, a crash between two vehicles was reported at approximately 6:30 a.m.
Police say one of the vehicles caught on fire.
Two people were brought to a hospital for treatment with injuries ranging from minor to serious. One person was treated at the scene and released.
