Milton gymnast is having a spring to remember

16-year-old Amelia Chaar just returned from Oshawa where she competed for Ontario at the Canadian National Gymnastics Championships, winning team gold and finishing 6th place in the individual portion of the competition.

Amelia is known for her work ethic and determination and she is also a leader at Milton Springers Gymnastics Club where she helps to train younger gymnasts.

Markham carjacking suspect charged; 2 others still wanted after late‑night attack, police say

York Regional Police (YRP) have charged one man and are searching for two other suspects after a violent late‑night carjacking in Markham that left a driver injured and without his vehicle.

Police say the attack happened just before midnight on March 3 at Warden Avenue and Hwy. 407, when the victim was stopped at a red light and was suddenly rear‑ended by a white sedan.

Limited service between Lawrence and Wilson stations due to ‘structural maintenance’: TTC

Subway service on a portion of Line 1 will be restricted on Monday due to what the TTC calls “structural maintenance.”

The transit agency says train service will be limited between Lawrence West and Wilson Stations.

“Customers will need to change trains at Lawrence West and Wilson stations to continue their journey,” the TTC states in a post on X.
