Man, 78, arrested in Leslieville assault investigation
Toronto police have arrested a man in connection with an alleged assault that took place in Leslieville late last month.
Officers were called to the area of Queen Street and Pape Avenue on July 27 around 9 a.m. for reports of an assault.
When police arrived at the scene, they found a victim with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries who was taken to hospital for treatment.

Toronto police say a 16-year-old boy pointed a loaded gun at officers when they tracked him down in connection to a previous firearms investigation.
Members of the Toronto Police Major Crimes Unit (MCU) tracked down the teen on Thursday, Aug. 6, at a building in the Jane Street and Finch Avenue West area.
“Officers located the male youth as he exited an elevator, and while attempting to arrest him, the youth pointed a loaded firearm at the officers,” a police release explains.

Barrie police are investigating a suspicious car fire in the Painswick neighbourhood of the city.
Barrie Fire alerted the police department about the fire in a parking lot on Esther Drive on Thursday morning.
