Parent advocates have been urging changes to a policy that sets out responsibilities of school boards, principals and staff when it comes to children with anaphylaxis, asthma, diabetes and epilepsy.

Toronto police have identified a man who was shot and killed in the hallway of a Toronto Community Housing (TCH) building in Rexdale on Sunday night.

Officers were called to the complex at Queen’s Plate Drive and Rexdale Boulevard at around 8 p.m.

They found a male victim with a gunshot wound in a hallway on an upper floor of the complex. Life-saving measures were taken, but the victim was later pronounced at the scene.

OTTAWA — A survey commissioned by the federal government late last year suggests nearly half of Canadians believe the country is admitting too many immigrants — but the share of respondents who think so has dropped since last year’s polling.

Police are expected to lay several charges involving sexual abuse and assault of minors against a man who used to be a pastor at an Ottawa church.
