Hockey Canada parts with women’s GM, coach
The Canadian women’s hockey team is in search of a new general manager as well as a coach at a time when Professional Women’s Hockey League teams have been scooping up candidates.
Hockey Canada announced Tuesday that general manager Gina Kingsbury will not return next season after eight years overseeing the national women’s team.
Kingsbury is also GM of the PWHL’s Toronto Sceptres.

Justin Bieber sets American Music Awards record with fifth best male pop artist win
Justin Bieber set a new American Music Awards record on Monday night, becoming the first musician to win best male pop artist five times.
The Stratford, Ont., native already held the record with four previous victories. He first won the award, previously named favourite pop/rock male artist, in 2010.
Bieber entered this year’s ceremony in Las Vegas with four nominations, including artist of the year and album of the year for last year’s “Swag.”

Man charged with murder after unidentified person found dead in Cabbagetown garage
Toronto police have made an arrest in connection with the death of a man whose body was found in a private parking garage over the weekend.
Police were flagged down in the area of Dundas and Seaton streets for a medical complaint on May 23 around 9:20 a.m.
Upon inspection, they found a victim with obvious signs of trauma who was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem was conducted and the man’s death was ruled a homicide. He has not been identified.

Cyclist seriously injured after being struck by vehicle at Bayview and Gerrard

A cyclist was rushed to hospital after being struck by a vehicle in the regent Park area on Tuesday.
Police were called to the intersection of Bayview Avenue and Gerrard Street at 7:00 a.m. for a collision.
The male cyclist suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The vehicle involved remained on scene.
The Bayview Avenue extension is currently closed at Rosedale Valley Road for the investigation.

BUGGENHOUT, Belgium (AP) — A crash between a bus and a train traveling at high speed in northern Belgium killed four people, including two children, and injured five other children, prosecutors said Tuesday.
The injured children were taken to the hospital in a serious condition, spokeswoman Lisa De Wilde said at a news conference. The accident happened at a level crossing during the morning rush hour near the town of Buggenhout, about 30 kilometers (20 miles) northwest of the capital, Brussels.

A motorcyclist has died after losing control of his bike and crashing into a vehicle in East York early Tuesday morning.
According to investigators, the rider was part of a group of motorcyclists who were allegedly racing southbound on Bayview Avenue, near Pottery Road just before 12:30 a.m.
Police say one of the motorcyclists in his late 30s, made contact with a northbound vehicle, causing the rider to lose control and crash.
