Employee at SickKids hospital facing charges in child luring investigation
Another employee at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) is facing charges in connection to an Internet Child Exploitation Unit investigation, the second in less than a month.
Toronto police say they began an investigation into the “alleged luring” of a person under 18 through telecommunications in October 2024.
It’s alleged the suspect communicated with a 15-year-old victim through social media and phone chat applications. He allegedly made inappropriate comments towards the victim and sent explicit images to them.

A young coyote pup played Goldilocks in a Christie Pits residence on Monday, when it found a home and settled into a bed that was seemingly just right.
Alice Kent says the pup was discovered by her cleaner when she went upstairs to the bedroom.
“She called down to me and she said ‘Alice I think there’s a fox in your bedroom,'” Kent explained.
When they both peeked into the room, the animal got spooked and tried to hide under the bed.

The province’s police watchdog has laid additional charges against a former Durham Regional Police Service officer in a decades‑old sexual assault investigation.
The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) says Kevin Seamons faces an additional five charges in connection with the alleged sexual assault of another woman between May 1999 and December 2009.

The Toronto Blue Jays rookie starter’s MRI on his left knee revealed what the team is describing as a “meniscus injury,” per Sportsnet’s Arden Zwelling.
Yesavage will see a specialist in Texas on Monday for further evaluation and to determine next steps.

A 44-year-old Bradford man is facing voyeurism charges following an investigation in Markham.
Police in York Region say they were notified at the end of February that someone had used a hidden camera inside a woman’s washroom and that one of the washroom’s in the video was located in the suspect’s workplace.
Investigators also determined that the man was in possession of videos showing victims engaged in consensual sex acts, however, it’s unknown if the victims were aware that they were being filmed

Ford government to reopen Brantford Jail
The Ontario government is looking into reopening the Brantford Jail as part of its plan to expand jail capacity.
Solicitor General Michael Kerzner says the move could add 125 beds to the province’s jail system.
The jail, which was build in 1852, was closed in December 2017 due to rising maintenance and operating costs. The closure forced the transfer of approximately 80 inmates and 80 staff to other facilities.
