A man is dead following a collision between a commercial van and an e-scooter near Tommy Thompson Park.
A man is dead following a collision between a commercial van and an e-scooter near Tommy Thompson Park.
Toronto police say the collision occurred just before 7:45 p.m. Wednesday in the Leslie Street and Unwin Avenue area.
A man who was riding the scooter was taken to the hospital with critical injuries, where he was later pronounced dead.
The age of the victim was not immediately available

Toronto’s fire chief used his appearance before City Council on Wednesday to once again raise concerns about lithium-ion battery fires, calling it the greatest public safety risk facing the City of Toronto.
In the 2025 annual report to City Council, Chief Jim Jessop said the number of lithium-ion battery-related fires in the city increased 214 per cent in the last three years, and that fire crews have already responded to 50 such fires this year.

“I decided to go with an underwater, mermaid type of theme for this section here. It’s coral, there’s themes of shells and essences of a beautiful woman coming out of the sea dripping in water,” she explains.
