Taylor Farms has expanded a voluntary recall of its iceberg lettuce products sourced from central Mexico because of a potential link to the multistate cyclospora outbreak that has sickened people across the U.S.

Woman arrested for impaired driving after flipping car on Don Valley Parkway

A woman was arrested for impaired driving after losing control of her vehicle and flipping it over on a downtown Toronto highway on Saturday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to the southbound ramp of the Don Valley Parkway that leads to the westbound Gardiner Expressway just before 1:30 p.m. for reports of a single-vehicle collision.

Paramedics say a woman in her late 30s was taken to a local trauma centre with minor injuries.

Blue Jays unveil statue outside Rogers Centre honouring World Series championships

A statue honouring the 1992 and 1993 World Series champion Toronto Blue Jays has been unveiled outside of Rogers Centre.

It shows right-fielder Joe Carter mid-jump as he rounds the bases following his walk-off home run to win the 1993 World Series.

The statue is located at the southeast corner of the ballpark, outside Gate 5.

It was created, in part, to celebrate the franchise’s 50th anniversary.

Woman killed in North York stabbing, police say

A woman was killed during a stabbing in North York on Saturday afternoon, according to Toronto police.

Officers were called to a residential building near Fairview Mall Drive and Don Mills Road just after 2:30 p.m. and found a woman with stab wounds inside the building.

Police say the woman was pronounced dead at the scene and the suspect fled the area before officers arrived.

An investigation is ongoing.
