Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is coming for your disk space

WTF?! Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's install size is reportedly ballooning so much that it no longer fits on smaller 250GB SSDs. Game install sizes in general have been moving up over the years, but even for the most insatiable of games, 250GB of required disk space seems excessive.

And while Call of Duty games have never exactly been shy with its storage demands -- upon launch Modern Warfare commanded a massive 175GB of installation space, topping the 15

Why it matters: Misinformation on Twitter (or WhatsApp, Facebook, or many other social channels) is a problem that isn't going away. To combat the spread though, Twitter is developing a new feature that will let users flag-up tweets for moderation. If more context is needed, extra information can be provided in the form of additional notes. This should make it easier for Twitter users to discern between fact and fiction.

Called "Birdwatch," the new Twitter feature is

AMD Ryzen now accounts for over 25% of CPUs among Steam users

The big picture: Steam's Hardware Survey for September 2020 paints an interesting picture for AMD. The Red Team is pushing some of its most competitive CPUs in years, and while Zen was a slow burn with gamers early on, that doesn't appear to be the case anymore. Zen 2-based CPUs came a long way in closing the single-threaded performance gap against Intel's favored gaming chips. Zen 3 promises to ratchet that pressure up even further, and we're going

In a nutshell: On Friday, President Trump announced on Twitter that he had contracted the coronavirus. Twitter has subsequently placed a ban on tweets that express a desire for Trump's death. Offending users will have their tweets deleted and their accounts placed in a "read only" mode, and repeat offenders will have their accounts suspended.

Twitter has referenced an "Abusive behavior" rule they implemented in April. It explicitly states: "we do not tolerate content that wishes, hopes or expresses a desire for death,

App revenue grew to $29 billion in Q3 2020, with two thirds being generated by Apple's App Store

No, AMD isn't discontinuing the Radeon RX 5700 series

Rumor mill: Some speculation has made the rounds recently and gotten a bit out of hand, claiming that AMD was set to discontinue the Radeon RX 5700 series, marking Navi 10 as EOL. AMD has since publicly debunked this with a statement, suggesting that RX 5700 GPUs will be around for the foreseeable future.

“We are continuing to produce the Radeon RX 5700 series graphics cards, which deliver exceptional 1440p gaming experiences. We will continue to respond

Apple patent describes a folding smartphone with a 'self-healing' display

In context: Modern smartphones are light years ahead of old-school flip phones, but that hasn't come without a cost. iPhones and Android devices alike both suffer from durability issues when dropped -- even the toughest Gorilla Glass is likely to scratch or dent from small falls. Fortunately, Apple has a solution, of sorts: an iPhone with the ability to repair minor damage all by itself.

A patent application published yesterday -- but filed way back in March of 2019 -- describes a

This time-lapse shows a supernova exploding brighter than five billion suns

Celestial fireworks: Supernovae are arguably one of the most spectacular phenomena in the observable universe. They are not rare, with one happening about once every second. However, it is rare to catch a time-lapse of one in action. Over the last year, the Hubble Space Telescope managed to do just that.

For the last year, the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) has been trained on what NASA defines as a "Type Ia" supernova 70 million lightyears away. In that time, the HST captured

One of the greatest hockey games is getting updated with today's teams and rosters

Editor's take: The early response from consumers appears positive although we can’t help but hope that EA reconsiders and eventually makes this a standalone offering. I know plenty of people that would gladly plop down a few bucks for this trip down memory lane. And heck, why not make this an annual occasion? Surely it can’t be too difficult to update the roster each year.

Electronic Arts’ sports division on Friday announced a unique bonus for anyone that pre-orders NHL 21.

Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 2 screen can still be scratched with your fingernail

In a nutshell: Samsung’s latest foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 2, has found its way to Zack’s test bench for a healthy dose of durability testing. Is it any more robust than earlier Samsung foldables? Sort of...

The Galaxy Z Fold 2 features a larger front display and an improved hinge mechanism compared to Samsung’s earlier effort. In testing the outer display against scratches, JerryRigEverything found that Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus holds up against scratching on the Mohs scale of mineral
