Project Tempo is Amazon's competitor to Google Stadia

Why it matters: Google, Nvidia, and to an extent Microsoft have all thrown their hats into the ring for cloud game streaming. However, Amazon is the market leader in cloud computing so it stands to reason that the company would develop a cloud gaming solution. Amazon is hoping that its focus on cloud gaming and game development combined with its Twitch dominance will bring more gamers into the Amazon ecosystem.

Cloud gaming is slowly becoming a thing with big tech companies including Microsoft, Google, Sony, and Nvidia all having some

The Last of Us Part II has been delayed indefinitely due to 'logistics' issues

What just happened? Much to the disappointment of many, 2020 has been the year of game delays, and that trend doesn't appear to be stopping anytime soon. Following in the footsteps of Cyberpunk 2077, Watch Dogs Legion, and many other postponed titles, AAA game development studio Naughty Dog has announced that it will be delaying the release of The Last of Us Part II "indefinitely."

You read that right: the sequel to 2013's fantastic post-

Spotify quietly updated Apple Watch app with Siri voice controls

In a nutshell: If you've never liked the fact that Siri would not play nicely with the Spotify app on your Apple Watch, today's your lucky day. The latest version of the Spotify watchOS app (8.5.52) now allows you to ask Siri to play specific groups or songs instead of just being able to launch the app.

Spotify finally added Siri integration to its watchOS app. It was a quiet addition, with the feature being the only change to the latest iteration of

Controversial firm NSO Group is making spyware that tracks and predicts the spread of Covid-19

Why it matters: As of writing, Israel has over 6,800 confirmed cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus and a death toll of 34. The country is now looking to use spyware built by NSO Group to track everyone inside its borders. Everyone gets a rating for how much they've exposed to known carriers of the virus, and the move draws many simmilarities to the color QR codes used in China for the same purpose.

Earlier this week, Israel's Defense Minister Naftali Bennett

Bethesda hands out free Steam copies of Fallout 76 to those who bought it on Bethesda.net

In brief: Nobody likes being forced to buy the same game twice across different platforms, and it seems that's something Bethesda understands -- at least, where the troubled Fallout 76 is concerned (Skyrim is another beast entirely). The studio will be handing out free Steam copies of Fallout 76 to anyone who has already purchased it over on Bethesda.net.

Bethesda.net, for the unaware, is Bethesda's controversial PC games store/launcher hybrid. When Fallout 76 first released,

App spending hits record levels as people look to break the boredom

In a nutshell: Consumers are increasingly relying on their mobile devices for both entertainment and productivity purposes. Such is especially true in the midst of the global pandemic that is currently playing out as App Annie recently highlighted.

In a report published on Thursday, the app market and insights company revealed that in the first few weeks of March, the worldwide average weekly time spent in apps (among Android phone users) increased 20 percent year over year.

Zoom skyrockets to 200 million users, puts 90-day hold on features to address security flaws

In context: The use of conferencing app Zoom has ballooned, going from about 10 million daily users last December to over 200 million as of March. Primarily designed with enterprise customers in mind, it has now spread to the education and private sectors as well.

With so much added attention and use, it was not surprising when reports emerged that the app was leaking personal data and had a flaw that could allow attackers to retrieve users' Windows credentials. Such problems are common when any software gains widespread use

On a positive note, Covid-19 lockdowns are affecting global seismic activity

The big picture: The Covid-19 outbreak and the unprecedented steps taken by officials worldwide to stem the spread of the virus are unlike anything we’ve ever witnessed. It’s also having some unexpected – albeit, very welcome – side effects as recently highlighted by Nature.

Seismologists at the Royal Observatory of Belgium have noticed a drop in seismic noise , or the “hum” of vibrations present in the Earth’s crust, since Coronavirus containment measures were introduced.

In Brussels where the readings were taken,

Facebook launches desktop app for group video calls and chats

Why it matters: More and more people are being forced to stay home during this time. Facebook is trying to capitalize off the lack of physical interaction by launching a new desktop app for group video chats. Though this app isn't feasible for a corporate environment, it should make chatting with your current Facebook friends easier.

Facebook has announced a new standalone desktop app for group video calls and chat. The app is available now for both Windows and macOS.

Technically, there has been a Messenger app in the Windows

Nikon is offering free online photography courses this month

Editor's take: Photography is one of the most fulfilling hobbies I've ever stumbled upon. Being able to capture a moment in time and tell a complete story with a single image is incredibly rewarding, even in this day and age where everyone now has a camera in their pocket.

With much of the world on lockdown due to the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak and a lack of live sports to fill the gap, folks are suddenly finding themselves with an abundance of free time. To help make the
