Nintendo is launching pop-up Switch demo lounges at select US airports

Bottom line: Nintendo's new pop-up lounges are little more than well-placed marketing booths but if you haven't had the opportunity to try out the Switch yet and have some spare time to kill before your flight, what's the harm in popping in for a demo?

Nintendo wants to make your time at the airport a bit less dreadful. Starting today, the Japanese gaming giant is launching Nintendo Switch On The Go pop-up lounges in select major airports across the US to give travelers

Facebook Dating postponed in Europe over GDPR compliance

In brief: It appears that Facebook will have to postpone the European launch of its dating service. Facebook Dating was set to go live in the EU on Thursday, the day before Valentines's Day. However, regulators in Ireland showed it no love by pointing out that it had not filed the proper paperwork in time.

Ireland's Data Protection Commission (IDPC) threw a wrench in the social media giant's plans to import its Facebook Dating service to the European Union. The Wall Street Journal notes ,

Gamers are ditching Radeon graphics cards over driver issues

As I planned and was beginning to run our next big graphics card benchmark test, I felt I had to shift gears to discuss AMD's driver woes after a recent poll we ran on the community. We've already reached out to AMD for a statement and they have responded and we’ll cover that towards the end of this article.

At this point it’s no secret AMD is struggling to iron out some driver related issues with their Radeon RX 5000 GPUs. Typically we like to

3D print

It's now possible to 3D print entire objects in seconds

Why it matters: Researchers from EPFL’s Laboratory of Applied Photonics Devices (LAPD) in Switzerland have developed a groundbreaking 3D-printing method that could upend an entire industry.

Conventional 3D printing involves building an object from the ground up, layer by layer, through a process known as additive manufacturing. It’s effective, but also quite tedious and the resolution, or level of detail, usually isn’t all that great.

This new technique is based on the principles of tomography. It starts with

iFixit says the Motorola Razr is the most complicated phone it's ever taken apart

What just happened? After so much hype and anticipation, Motorola’s foldable Razr phone arrived last week, but early reviews have been far from good. Now, iFixit has performed one of its famous teardowns on the device, calling it the “most complicated phone-based contraption we’ve ever taken apart.”

Things weren’t looking good for the Razr when CNET put the phone in a device called "FoldBot" with a goal of reaching 100,000 folds. Sadly, the

Online gaming can lead to lasting friendships, and much more

Up for discussion: Online gaming is a pastime that many of us enjoy but for some, it can lead to lifelong bonds, romantic encounters and even marriage. Have you ever met someone special while gaming or know somebody that has? Feel free to chime in below!

I often turn to the Holstee Manifesto for inspiration. One particular line in the motivational poster – a framed copy of which hangs in my office at my nine o’clock – stands out. “If you are looking for the love of your life

Could packages sent from China carry the coronavirus?

In a nutshell: With the number of cases rising, more people outside of China are becoming concerned about the coronavirus. One question that’s being asked is: can the virus be carried on packages shipped directly from the country?

While such a scenario was part of a Simpsons episode from 1993, in which “Osaka Flu” traveled from Japan to Springfield after a factory worker coughed into a package, there are genuine fears that something similar could happen with the coronavirus.

While the answer isn’t

Apple Pay makes up 5 percent of global card transactions, could double by 2025

In brief: Apple Pay currently makes up 5 percent of global transactions, and analysts strongly believe it could double by 2025. The company's service launched in 2014, and is looking increasingly capable of competing with payment giants like Paypal, not to mention helping Apple grow its revenue in the face of slowing iPhone sales.

If we look at its latest financial report , Apple still makes most of its money from iPhone sales, which remain strong in the face of longer replacement cycles. However

Sony's latest portable speaker comes with a built-in remote control

Bottom line: Sony has announced an interesting new gadget for the Japanese market, which keeping with its uninteresting product naming conventions, is called the SRS-LSR200. The device is essentially a handheld speaker that features a remote control on top to let users manage and listen to their TV remotely (geddit?), by accompanying them in places like the kitchen or a garage (or the toilet).

The SRS-LSR200 won't be replacing a home theater anytime soon, but its
